Setup
- Helper stands about 8–10 feet away.
- Use soft underhand tosses.
- Player starts ready with glove out front.
- A little point game keeps her attention locked in.
How it works
- Toss gently, right into her glove.
- She catches the ball in the pocket.
- Right after the catch, her throwing hand covers the ball to trap it.
- Reset and repeat. Keep tosses easy enough for clean reps.
- Optional: clean catch = her point, pop-out = helper’s point. First to 5.
Watch for
- The throwing hand comes in after the catch — not before, or she can get her fingers hurt.
- Hands come together quickly to secure the ball.
- Glove stays open to receive it instead of closing too early.
What to say
Catch it, then cover it.
Two hands.
Squeeze it.
Yes — nice and secure!
